Dwarf Baby Tears plant drapes your aquarium with elegant leaf clusters. The smallest of known aquarium plants, Hemianthus callitrichoides is an ideal foreground plant. If regularly pruned, this bright green South American native can also be floated at the water's surface. Either way, it creates the ideal location for spawning fish to hide their eggs and active bottom dwellers to forage for food. Native to Cuba, Dwarf Baby Tears will eventually form a dense carpet over your aquarium substrate when planted. Some plants take time to establish themselves; however, once ideal conditions are met, this plant fills in well. For optimal health, H. callitrichoides requires bright, direct lighting and a rich nutrient base.
Provided lighting and nutrient criteria are met, Dwarf Baby Tears is generally not finicky about care. The plant propagates via runners that branch off of the root area. Cuttings from a mature plant can also be repotted and positioned in other areas of your aquarium.

"The Whale pump" by Roman J., McCarthy JJ (2010) :
A study in 2010 has attributed to whales a positive influence on the productivity of ocean fisheries, in what has been termed a "whale pump."
Whales carry nutrients such as nitrogen from the depths back to the surface. This functions as an upward biological pump, reversing the assumption of some scientists that whales accelerate the loss of nutrients to the bottom.
They note that this nitrogen input in the Gulf of Maine is "more than the input of all rivers combined," some 23,000 metric tons each year.

A liquid high concentrate of non-toxic bacteria (40 million bacteria per ml) carefully selected for their capacity in breaking down organic matter and for transforming ammonia in aquariums. This product can be used in new or existing fresh and saltwater aquariums to transform highly toxic ammonia into nitrites and nitrites into nitrates. NITRIDAC actually causes the rapid degeneration of organic compounds reducing the build up of sediment or mud, restores aquarium walls and beds preventing the formation and growth of algae and also prevents an increase in nitrites.
