Cichlid Lake Salt is a chemically sound blend of salts designed to replicate the natural environment of Cichlids. It contains all physiologically essential elements such as magnesium, calcium, sodium, potassium, and includes trace components such as iron, aluminum, and iodide. It does not contain harmful or unnecessary ingredients such as nitrates, phosphates, arsenic, lithium, or cadmium. Use Seachem Cichlid Trace to restore and maintain important trace elements between water changes.
Why It's Different
Although the major Rift Lakes contain basically the same mineral salts, they do so in greatly differing concentrations. Cichlid Lake Salt is formulated so that dosages vary depending on the lake of origin and need only be added when setting up an aquarium or with water changes. Many competing products are little more than combinations of Epsom salt and bicarbonate of soda. This will not provide a complete replication of the mineral salts that are contained in the lakes of Africa, in particular calcium and potassium.
All doses given for 40 L (10 gallons*). TANGANYIKA: Use 11 g (1.5 teaspoons). MALAWI: Use 5.5 g (3/4 teaspoons). VICTORIA: Use 3.6 g (1/2 teaspoon). pH BUFFERING: Seachem Tanganyika Buffer (pH 9.0-9.4) and Malawi/Victoria Buffer (pH 7.8-8.4) should be used to adjust carbonate hardness and pH. TIPS: Use when setting up an aquarium and when making water changes. To add salt to an established tank, base dose on water being changed. Do not use salt when simply replacing evaporated water. It is best to dissolve the salt in freshwater before use.

The Princess Bee from Vietnam can grow to a maximal body length of 3 cm and reach an age of around 2 years. The males stay slightly smaller than the females and do not get as plump.
The Princess Bee, like most freshwater shrimp, is an omnivore and will eat just about any food. The species is very peaceful, other aquarium inhabitants have nothing to fear from them. You can easily keep them together with fish that do not predate on shrimp.
Princess Bee shrimp do not have any special requirements regarding the aquarium decoration ... here you can use your imagination freely. The shrimp are happy with a little moss and driftwood ... and if there are some hiding-places like tubes or brown autumn leaves (oak or beech) in the tank, your Princess Bee will have everything they need.
When Princess Bee shrimp have adapted to their environment and when they are happy, the females will relase up to 30 fully developed shrimplets every 5 to 6 weeks. In well-planted tanks with lots of places to hide, some of the young shrimp will even grow up in the presence of fish.
