The Banggai Cardinalfish has a striking silver hue with black stripes and white spots, and remarkable long fins. This species is widespread in Indonesia and Asia, tending to be hardier than their wild-caught counterparts. For its natural environment, a tank of 30 gallons or more is ideal, stocked with a cave and compatible tankmates. As it is aggressive with other members of its own kind, only a few should be kept together. Breeding the fish is easy; the male carries the eggs in its mouth upon spawning. A varied diet of meaty foods like feeder shrimp, seafood, bloodworms, and live feeder fish, adjusted for size, must be provided.
