Discocsoma mushrooms are one of the most resilient mushrooms. They are beginner friendly and are able to thrive in a wide variety of conditions and aquariums. This mushroom features a light green colour with spots throughout its body, its approximate size is 3 cm.
.
These mushrooms prefer medium light (50-150 par), a slightly brighter light allows the polyps of the corals to be more pronounced over time. However, they are still able to thrive in low light (30-50 par) conditions.
.
We recommend mushrooms to be kept in a low flow area of the display tank. Mushrooms tend to become stress and not extend fully in more turbulent flow, they may also detach from the substrate or frag plug and drift around the aquarium.
.
Discosoma mushrooms can be fed but it is not required. However, if you wish to feed them, they will need to be fed smaller foods such as zooplankton or various commercial coral foods.
.
This is a general guideline. Mushrooms are tolerable of higher nitrate and phosphate levels, a good guideline will be to target stable parameters as long as they are within a reasonable range.
