The graceful Copperband Butterflyfish possesses a long, thin beak-like snout perfect for foraging in crevices and holes. It features yellow-orange bands edged in black, plus a false eyespot at the rear of its dorsal fin. Best kept singly in large reefs or peaceful communities, the Copperband should not come into contact with any stress-inducing fish. Be cautious when housing in a reef aquarium; they may nibble on invertebrates like anemones and feather dusters. Although tricky to feed, the Copperband Butterflyfish is a vital member of reef tanks – they consume glass anemones and help control aiptasia.
