NeoPlex™ is a broad spectrum antibiotic effective against most external infections of both marine and freshwater fish. Used as directed, NeoPlex™ will not discolor the water or damage the filter bed. It is well tolerated by invertebrates, although delicate species may be stressed.
Remove all invertebrates - these are extremely sensitive to medication. Turn off UV filters, ozone filters, and remove chemical filtration like MatrixCarbon™ and Purigen™. Use 1 measure (included) per every 8 L (2 US gallons). Repeat this dose every 7 days to a maximum of 3 weeks. This will treat external bacterial infections.
Feed the medicated food mix every day until the infection clears or up to 1 week. This will treat internal bacterial infections. This medicated food can be refrigerated or frozen between feedings.
To enhance palatability use with GarlicGuard™ or Entice™.
When the treatment period is over, NeoPlex™ can easily be removed using activated filter carbon like MatrixCarbon™. It does not linger in the substrate or filter media of the tank. Remove with carbon before turning on UV.
Active ingredients: neomycin sulfate (43%) Inactive ingredients: excipients (57%)
Bacterial infectionFins appear shredded, frayed, or decaying. Fin Rot is frequently mistaken for damage from fin-nipping fish. Contrary to the name, this is actually caused by bacteria, not fungus.
Suggested Treatment Period:Dose in the Water 1 week
Special ConsiderationsFin Rot is often found as a secondary infection (that’s an infection that started because the fish was already sick). Make sure to check for additional infections.
Bacterial InfectionOpen wounds or sores on the body or tail of the fish. Bacterial lesions appear on the body or tail of the fish. They often look like an open wound, sore, or deterioration of the skin and flesh of the fish.
Suggested Treatment Period:Dose in the Water 3 weeks
Special ConsiderationsBacterial lesions often start due to wounds on the fish, either from travel or from residence in a tank of aggressive fish. Using an antiseptic like StressGuard™will help to prevent this.
ColumnarisDamaged fins, ulcers and yellowish patches on gills, tissue on head and mouth eaten away. This infection appears gruesome, but is entirely treatable. It is common to see fungus-like tufts around the face and mouth in addition to deterioration of tissue. It is essential to catch this disease early to prevent long-term damage.
Suggested Treatment Period:Dose in the Water 1 week
Special ConsiderationsMouth Rot is very contagious. If possible, remove the infected fish to treat separately in a hospital tank.
Symptom of internal infectionFish’s belly appears swollen and may have trouble swimming. If the scales stick out, this is called Dropsy and is better treated with KanaPlex™. Bloat is often caused by intestinal infections, but can also be a symptom of internal parasites or damage to the fish’s liver.
Suggested Treatment Period:3 weeks or until fungus clears
Special ConsiderationsBloat is a relatively common and easily treated condition in fish. If left alone, though, it can eventually develop into Dropsy, which is much more difficult to treat. NeoPlex™ is very effective against bacterial infections of the intestines, but if the infection spreads to other parts of the body, we recommend treating with KanaPlex™.
Most bacterial infections appear in conjunction with poor water quality or another infection (called a “primary infection”). Do a water test to ensure your water quality is still good and do water changes if necessary to improve your water quality before treating with a medication.
BIO-Cubes are made from 100% biologically degradable polymers that effectively remove both nitrates and phosphates from both marine and freshwater systems. BIO-Cubes have a very high surface area and contains 400% more carbohydrates than any other brand, making it the best product of its kind in the world. Independent testing in real world scenarios, have proven BIO-Cubes to far outperform all other competing products. No other product of its kind can compare with the explosive performance that BIO-Cubes can offer. BIO-Cubes are very versatile and can be used in filter bags, fluidized reactors and denitrators. BIO-Cubes require no maintenance and require no feeding dosages making it the easiest and most convenient nitrate and phosphate removing product on the market. Nitra-Guard BIO-Cubes comes with a free filter bag with every jar (excluding 5000ml size).
How it all works
Bacteria consume the high carbohydrate source found in the BIO-Cubes and form a biomass that absorbs nitrates and phosphates from the water in the aquarium. This biomass is then skimmed out with a protein skimmer or is consumed as a food source by corals and clams.
When culturing bacteria, 2 of the most important factors that will determine the size of the colony are surface area and food source. BIO-Cubes look like small open celled sponges giving the product a massive surface area. BIO-Cubes also has 400% more biologically available, insoluble polymer carbohydrates than any other product in the world. These 2 factors create conditions that are perfect for culturing and sustaining large bacteria colonies required to effectively remove phosphate and nitrate from aquariums. It is these 2 factors that have made Nitra-Guard BIO-Cubes the world's best carbohydrate based nitrate removing media. Independent tests that were performed in real world scenarios revealed that BIO-Cubes had the ability to reduce nitrates from 60ppm down to 5ppm in under 2 weeks while competing products claim to only start working after 2 weeks!
Directions for use
The amount required will depend on stocking densities and amount of food added to the aquarium. For heavily stocked tanks, use 3ml to every 1liter of aquarium water and for aquariums with lighter stock loads, add 1ml to every 1liter of aquarium water.
The Nitra-Guard BIO-Cubes work best in an oxygen-rich environment with good waterflow. To get the best results, the Bomb Method as described in the instructions can be used. The BIO-Cubes can also be used in a media reactor or a filter media bag and placed near the protein skimmer to assist in removing the nitrate/phosphate-rich biomass faster. If using the Nitra-Guard BIO-Cubes in a reactor, make sure the reactor can be fitted with a venturi to provide sufficient oxygenation to the BIO-Cubes. After 1 to 2 weeks, the bacteria colonies will become prolific enough to start lowering nitrate levels in your aquarium. If nitrate and phosphate levels in your aquarium are high, some cloudiness may occur which clears in a few days. Soak BIO-Cubes in freshwater for 24hrs before use.
The "Care Magnet" is a breath of fresh air in the field of aquarium pane cleaner design, consisting of an ergonomic handle and special plastic blades made of wear-resistant high performance plastic. The patented slim Care Magnet is significantly more compact than conventional algae magnets with a large cleaning surface, it is unobtrusive and therefore able to remain within the aquarium without disrupting the overall scenery.
This glass pane cleaner doesn't cause any scratches on internal aquarium glass panes, and can therefor even be used on acrylic glass panes with the small plastic blade.
The inner magnet is more than 3mm away from the aquarium and thus prevents the jamming of the aquarium sand. The two plastic blades remove the algae considerably better from the glass panes than a flat cleaning surface - almost as good as a sharp metal blade. The life of a blade is from several months up to approx. one year. The low flow resistance during the cleaning with a simultaneous high magnetic coupling, makes a separation of the magnet nearly impossible.
The large blade should only be modified with the included stainless steel blade for aquarium glass panes with particularly tough algae, e.g. older deposits on the side walls or thick calcareous algae.
The patented principle, which uses plastic blades with a different length, creates a varying application pressure, enabling the narrow blade to remove even tightly attached algae. With the wide blade, it is possible to perform a large-scale algae removal.
Thanks to its slim design, the plants and the corals will not be disturbed.
The Care Magnet can also be used on round aquarium panes or round-arched panes.
Plastic blades with round edges enable a smooth transition to the next pane at the aquarium edges without damaging the silicone joints.
It doesn't distribute the algae within the aquarium as a green dust; it rather roles them up completely, and through this turns the algae film into actual food for the fish.
It can also be used as a hand scraper.
for 20 mm (.79 in.) up to a glass thickness of 25 mm (.98 in.), width 86 mm (3.39 in.), length 140 mm (5.51 in.).
Including a stainless steel blade and two spare plastic blades.
Care Magnet strong+ – for glass panes up to 25 mm (1 in.).
