Instructions and Dosing recommendation:
Please do all changes in the aquarium carefully and slowly.
Start with 100 ml per 300 L of water.
After 5 days the dose can be increased up to 150 ml per 300 L of water.
Never use more than 200 ml for 300 L of water.
To obtain best results and maximize adsorbtion efficiency, place the material between two layers of filter wool or use a fluidized-bed-reactor.
Check phosphate concentration regularly with reliable test kits, e.g. from Salifert, Macherey & Nagel, or Merck / Rowa.
Do NOT use PowerPhos in tanks that already have very low phosphate concentrations.
If phosphate concentrations start to increase again, exchange PowerPhos for fresh material.
Power Phos is suitable for fresh and seawater. The material can warm up when getting wet for the first time.
The red colouration of the water is caused by the fine dust attached to the adsorber. It is not harmful and vanishes quickly.
Do NOT rinse the adsorber before use.
Keep away from children.
Not to be used for animals used for food production.

Ultra-activated Denitrification Media with Superior Performance Characteristics
Read all instructions before use. The use of a mechanical pre-filter to remove particulate organic material from water prior to its interaction with this media will improve efficiency. Rinse Xport NO3 Cubes in purified water or low-TDS fresh water, then place media into a clean pail and fill with water from the aquarium into which the media is to be placed. Seed each 150 g of Xport NO3 Cubes used with 20-ml of MicroBacter7 (poured into the pail and dispersed by hand), then allow media to remain in this "bath" for 24-hours at room temperature. Remove Xport NO3 Cubes from pail and pour water into the aquarium system, then place Xport NO3 Cubes into canister filter, media reactor, or 800µm mesh filter bag; a flow-through rate of 1 - 3x the total aquarium volume per hour is recommended. Do not fluidize. In systems with an initial [NO3] of <40 ppm, begin with a ratio of 150 g Xport NO3 Cubes per 120 US-gallons (454 L) in system (increase this mass by 10% for every 10 ppm NO3 in excess of 40 ppm). Denitrification will typically begin within one week; rate of denitrification increases with time. If corals or other invertebrates appear to react negatively to the use of Xport NO3 Cubes, it may be an indication that NO3 is being removed too aggressively; decrease amount of Xport NO3 Cubes used by 50% and continue use until [NO3] falls within desired range.
Note that the required amount of Xport NO3 Cubes will change as the system matures, and as biomass and/or stocking density changes. Denitrification relies on adequate organic carbon availability; if [NO3] stops decreasing during the first month of use and no significant increase in bioload, stocking density, or nutrient input rate has occurred during this period, then it is likely that organic carbon or phosphate is limiting. Use of Katalyst, Reef BioFuel, or FlorinAxis (planted aquaria) per the instructions on the respective labels will be required to provide this carbon; NeoPhos or Florin-P will provide phosphorus. Replace ~25% of the total Xport NO3 Cubes employed every 3 - 4 months in high-bioload systems, and every 6 - 8 months in low-nutrient systems. Maximum rate of denitrification is achieved by placing Xport NO3 Cubes in-line with, and downstream from, Xport Bio Cubes. Xport PO4 Cubes may be used downstream from Xport NO3 Cubes to facilitate complete phosphate uptake; do not place Xport-PO4 upstream from Xport-NO3, which will inhibit denitrification.

The Effects of Redfield's Ratio on Carbohydrate based nitrate removers
Redfield ratio is the atomic ratio that exists between carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus that is found in plankton and throughout the oceans. This ratio also applies to yeast / bacteria that are responsible for nitrogen removal. The original ratio is found to be C:N:P = 106:16:1. The ratios of carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus have recently been proven to fluctuate somewhat between different species of yeast. All 3 of these nutrients are required in order to make the process of nitrate removal possible. If the system becomes depleted in either one of these nutrients, biomass production will not happen and nitrate removal will cease. The role of Phosphate in Carbohydrate based nitrate removers
Phosphorus is essential to virtually every living creature. Phosphate is a component of ATP, RNA, DNA, and also the phospholipids that form all cell membranes. Low phosphate levels will limit growth in aquatic systems. The lack of Phosphate in a system will severely restrict the growth of the yeast / bacteria that removes nitrate in a system. Think of it in this way, if nitrate were the bricks for building a house, then phosphate would be the cement. Before installing your BIO-Cubes TITANIUM, soak cubes in freshwater for 24hrs to prevent skimmers from becoming over-active. If skimmer does become over-active, switch skimmer off for a few hours and re-start. The skimmer will return to normal operation within 24 hours
Installing your BIO-Cubes TITANIUM :
Nitra-Guard BIO-Cubes TITANIUM require very strong current and large quantities of oxygen in order to successfully remove nitrates. For best results, we recommend using Nitra-Guard BIO-Cubes TITANIUM in a "BOMB" Installation method
If BIO-Cubes TITANIUM are to be used in a reactor it is advisable to have a venturi system installed to insure proper oxygenation of the BIO-Cubes TITANIUM.
If BIO-Cubes TITANIUM are to be used in a filter bag or reactor, place them near the protein skimmer to assist in removing the nitrate and phosphate rich biomass faster.
If you are using BIO-Cubes TITANIUM in a freshwater system, place a fine filter cloth over the cannister of your filter. This will filter out the biomass which should be removed every few days.
After 10 days, the bacteria colonies will become prolific enough to start lowering nitrate and phosphate levels in your aquarium. If nitrate and phosphate levels in your aquarium are high, some cloudiness may occur which clears in a few days. With time, BIO-Cubes TITANIUM start to biodegrade as they are consumed by bacteria.
After 4 months, check BIO-Cubes TITANIUM and top-up levels to what they were when BIO-Cubes TITANIUM were first installed.

Directions for use
The amount required will depend on stocking densities and amount of food added to the aquarium. For heavily stocked tanks, use 3ml to every 1liter of aquarium water and for aquariums with lighter stock loads, add 1ml to every 1liter of aquarium water.
The Nitra-Guard BIO-Cubes work best in an oxygen-rich environment with good waterflow. To get the best results, the Bomb Method as described in the instructions can be used. The BIO-Cubes can also be used in a media reactor or a filter media bag and placed near the protein skimmer to assist in removing the nitrate/phosphate-rich biomass faster. If using the Nitra-Guard BIO-Cubes in a reactor, make sure the reactor can be fitted with a venturi to provide sufficient oxygenation to the BIO-Cubes. After 1 to 2 weeks, the bacteria colonies will become prolific enough to start lowering nitrate levels in your aquarium. If nitrate and phosphate levels in your aquarium are high, some cloudiness may occur which clears in a few days. Soak BIO-Cubes in freshwater for 24hrs before use.

Directions: Rinse pouch under tap water. Place pouch in path of water flow in the aquarium filter. For a new aquarium or when ammonia or nitrite is detected: recharge every 5 days for the first month, and then every 2 weeks for the second month. For an established aquarium: recharge every 2 weeks. When nitrate is detected: recharge every 5 days until nitrate is reduced to 20ppm (mg/L) or less. Replace pouch after 2 months.
To recharge: Dissolve 4 tablespoons (80 g) of API® AQUARIUM SALT in 8 oz. (240 ml) of warm tap water. Soak pouch for 2 hours, then rinse lightly in tap water. When not in use, store pouch in recharging solution.
